Review: L'oreal Subline Mousse in 56 Spicy Auburn Brown

Since the mousse dye is somewhat popular in the US, I decided to buy one and try it out. If you want to see the result, stay tune at the end of the post.

The color I am going to be dying today is 56 Spicy Auburn Brown.

On the side of the box are direction for using this dye.

The color close up in the box.

These are the tools used to make the foam.

The gloves used in this dye.

Gloves are too big for me!

This is close up look of the bottle where 1 and 2 are mix together.

After rotating the bottle, it turns into a purple dye. Remember, do not shake the bottle and test on skin before applying to hair to see if your are allergic to the solution.

Purple Foam!

This is after I apply the foam to my hair. Yes there are foams that came out but it's not that foamy when you massage in the hair. I want it to lather as much as it is shown in the box!

Here is the result! Ready yet?

My Thoughts
After the dye, my hair became darker than before but it's normal, right since the color is Spicy Auburn Brown? It's a lot redder than my previous hair color but still it's a lot darker than what's printed in the box. I hate that this foam is hard to lather or I can't lather it at all. Probably this is my problem, or is it not?

Overall, this is just an okay dye, not the best out there. Even though mousse might be easier to use but I think I would rather stick back to the regular cream one. You need to do a bit more work but the color shows up better than mousse.

The packaging is great. The pump is so easy to use and easy to pump out the foam.

This is the first mousse dye I used so I don't know if the other brand works better or not. If you have any recommendation, please feel free to tell me.

  1. It looks lovely, the color is really soft :) At least you didn't have to spend a ton of money on it right? It always happens to me after I dye my hair and then hate the color, but after a few days, it settles in and looks better than before ;)
