(Travel/Food) Weekend Getaway @ Petaluma

I have wanted to write a travel and food post for a while but was just a bit lazy. This weekend getaway was from this mid January with Mr. L. We planned to go somewhere close to Bay Area as a little escape for the weekend so Petaluma was a great option. Petaluma is around 30 miles north of San Francisco if you are planning to visit this place. It is also one of California's oldest cities founded around 1858 when the gold rush happened.

We stayed at Metro Hotel because Mr. L bought a deal from LivingSocial or Groupon. Metro Hotel is more of a French style hotel in which guest can experience what it is to live in France. This is more a B&B but even cuter!

Want to see more of Metro Hotel and yummy foods?

Review: Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails

I don't know what to say about the past few weeks. I know I promise on Facebook that I will schedule post on my trip to LA but once again, I did not fulfill that promise. I am someone who easily breaks promises so I will not try to do that again.

Anyways, today's post is a little different because I want to try out something new other reviewing the same old beauty products or FOTD.

Thanks to SheSpeaks, I get to try out the new Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails. FYI, I am way past the legal drinking age so if you are under 21, don't drink this please:)

(Travel/Food) Eating Around Small Town, Mendocino...

("I am from the toy store!")

I don't know if you girls remember that Mr. L and I went on a mini toad trip to Mendocino. It is about a 3 hours drive from San Francisco. Mendocino is a beautiful seaside town with lot of Victorian style inn. Mr. L and I stayed at one too. I forgot its name but he bought the inn deal via Groupon so the price is much better. This deal even came with a complimentary wine!

This is mostly a food post so if you dislike yummy food, I suggest you leave!

Come on!

Chantal Guillon Macarons

When I first saw the macaroon photo at my friends Facebook page, I immediately wanted to get my hands on them. I love sweets and macaroon is one of my favorite too. Chantal Guillon is the name of this macaroon and tea shop. I think its previous name was Paulette or something like that. It's located at Hayes Valley in San Francisco. It's a small shop so be sure not to drive pass it.

Want to see the macaroons that we bought?

Silly Us! + Angel Hair Pasta

I don't know if Mr. L will let me publish his face on my blog but I'll do it anyways. If he dislikes it, I'll just ignore him! Haha! How evil am I!

Yesterday Mr. L cooked this angel hair pasta requested by me. It tastes wonderful! The chickens are very juicy and have a bit of sweetness to it! Did you see the octopus on the pasta? It's actually mini sausage. I think he cut the sausage and fry it.

Warming Up with Porridge

Today was rather a cold day with no sign of raindrops yet. It's great to sit down and enjoy a bowl of porridge. I really wish that after this bowl of porridge, I would feel much warmer but that's not the case. I still feel cold and crappy.

What's your favorite food on a cold day?

Anyone want to try it?

Um...Gelato Anyone?

I haven't had gelato for quite some time. When I was walking to the convenient store to get some snacks, I suddenly wanted to eat some gelato. I remember a gelato store nearby so Shar and I walked there.

The store name is called Gelateria Naia, which is located in North Beach. It's a very modern looking store that sells yummy gelato.

The flavors that we chose are Chocolate Malt and Pistachio.

What's your favorite gelato flavor?

That's what you call a day with food, love, and joy

This post is about my whole last week and maybe plus today as well. I had some fun with food and love. Usually I am picky with food (everyone are) because I love to eat what I love, not what I need. So, I consider myself a very unhealthy girl, who skip meal and eat whenever I want to. I guess that's how life goes with me.

As for love, I guess I found it again but this time with something else. It is the love of going out and enjoying the weather while I can. I love how the winds blow at my face and through my hair. That feeling is ecstatic! It is also the love for books. I have found it again and I enjoy every moment of reading now. I had forgotten the way I cried, laugh, and smile in the book while reading it. I am happy to tell myself I found it again.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Today is the day in the Chinese calendar to have a family dinner like Thanksgiving. It was a tiring day because I have to clean my room, which I should do two days ago. Two days ago was the day to clean the house to clear away all the bad things and hope the new year brings you luck.

This is our dinner for tonight but can you see anything missing? Yes! Rice is missing. After cooking this wonderful meal for 7, my mom realizes that the rice cooker wasn't even plug in! It turns out that we just ate what was on the table while the rice is cooking. I didn't get to get rice because by the time the rice finish cooking, I was full!

Even though tomorrow is the actual Lunar New Year date, I am still wishing everyone good health this year tonight! Gong Hay Fat Choy 恭喜發財! 身體健康! Seng Tai Kin Hong (translation is all in Cantonese)

Food Obsession

I was just about to finish up this post then I accidentally press delete and the whole post disappear, so I have to write it up again. I have to be more careful of touching the keyboard from now on!

My Beloved one, I am sorry for constantly changing blog theme and layout. I want to find the best one for this blog and hope to use it for a long period of time. If you think I should change anything, feel free to tell me.

Now back to the topic of this post. As you can see, I don't have many food posts lately. That is because I always forget to upload them. Today is the chance for all of you to see the food I had eaten in the past few months.

This is the most recent photo of me eating at Hong Kong Cafe in Daly City. The food shown below is a shrimp and mushroom omelet with a Hong Kong Style Russian Borscht. I think the omelet was okay, not good or bad.

Random Friday with The One

This was supposed to be last Friday's post but I was lazy to upload pictures and write about it. Now that I had the time, I am going to take you Back to The Past! Ready, Set, Go!

Last week was an epic week for me. I watched three different movies in a week but this is way better than watching movies continuously in a day. The movies watched were Jackass 3D, Saw 3D, and Skyline.

Jackass 3D was hilarious just as expected. I would never be able to do The Poop Cocktail Supreme. Haha!

As for Saw 3D, I thought I would be scare because of all the disgusting scenes but I was not at all. I actually really enjoy watching people's intestine pop out and people trying to get out of jigsaw's trap. I feel very abnormal compare to my sisters who were scare to death to watch it.

Breakfast Day and Grocery Shopping

Today's Veteran Day so I think I can sleep in late but no!! My mom woke me up at 9am and ask me to get dress so we could have a breakfast at a cafe. I was so tired that my eyes can barely open!

When we got to the cafe, it was crowded with people especially little kids! The waiting time was only a couple of minutes so I was fine with it. Then we looked at the breakfast menu and ordered some food. We ordered 3 #J Breakfast which include, two pancakes, two sausage, and a fried egg. My little sister, Shar, ordered egg and spam soup noodle. Since my little nephew Jasper was also here, we got him a cup of orange juice. The rest of us which include my mom, Shar, and me had hot milk tea. The food came out rather slow.

Yum Yum Japanese Snacks

Yesterday my boyfriend tempted me to buy some junk food in this Japanese Market. I thought that I could stay away from the temptation of the food I love but I could not. As soon as I got into the store, I immediately grab a basket and start shopping for my favorite snacks. Here is the list of food he bought for me, but some of them are his:

("Mommy, I did not steal the chocolate" said Sock Sock.)

This sock monkey is from the movie Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. I name it Sock Sock.
