Cold Winter Beauty: Skincare

Today I will be talking about winter skin care and sharing what I like to use. My skin is far from perfect. My forehead acne are not coming up as for now. My cheek tends to get dry and flaky during winter time. My forehead gets oily when my skin don't get enough moisture. Most importantly, my skin is super dull looking! During winter time, I still want to look brighter and more awake!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is always my to go cleanser! No matter what skin conditions I am suffering, this cleanser never irritates my skin at all! It smell fresh and does a great job getting the excess oil and dirt out. It won't stripe away the skin's original moisture and skin will feel very smooth after cleansing!

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water is the product I always like to use after cleansing when my skin is in a not so good condition like dry or flaky. I use this as a toner and it help soothe and calm down my irritation a lot! Your skin will feel super good afterward. It's like going to a spa to me! The toner step is a must for me during winter time.

During daytime, I like to use a more lightweight moisturizer because your face wouldn't look oily. Gariner Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV Lotion is a good option. Not only it's lightweight but it's very moisturizing to my dry skin and wouldn't make my forehead look oily during the day!

During nighttime, you can use a heavier moisturizer for your dry skin. Your skin will wake up looking more radiant and moist! Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream is a good choice now! The gel can soothe out the irritation I have from the dryness. My skin always feel refresh and good when use a gel moisturizer during winter or dry weather.

When we get those flakes or dead skin cell on our face then that means we have to exfoliate! My all time favorite scrub is the St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrubs. After using this the first time, I fell in love with this product! This scrub has harder grain that can get rid of the dead skin cell on the surface of the skin very well! Trust me, your skin will feel so smooth afterward that you don't want to stop touching it! With weekly exfoliation, your skin will look more radiant because the dead skin cell are the ones that is making you look dull and tired!

With a good winter skin care, you are looking more beautiful each day!

Finally an OOTD post is up! The theme is somewhat inspired by Valentine's Day so you could say it's a sweet romance outfit. Since it's the sweet day, I want to brighten up myself a lot but of course not neon color! The color brings out a soft, sweet, and playful side of me in a way.

FOTD: Revive from the Sick!

Don't be scare of the title, ladies!

I am not dead yet but half dead for the past week or so. My cold got worse when I got back from my Vegas trip with Mr. L a few days ago. I started to have a terrible fever afterward along with headache, a bit short of breath and lots of coughing!!. I am feeling much better now after resting for far too long in my bed. I hope to be better soon so I can update more on my blog.

To make me look better and won't scare you girls off, I decide to do a FOTD. It consist of neutral color eye shadow, a pink blush and just plain old lip balm!

With a little magic, my sick sick face can be beautiful again! Hehe!

I feel like I tend to add more blush to the cheek when I am sick because that could give my pale face some color and it can make me glow too! Don't you think so?

Naturopathica 30 Day Skin Transformation Challenge

A few weeks ago, I was invited to take part in the Naturopathica 30 Day Skin Transformation Challenge in which I try out their new regimen skin kit for 30 days. A good 2 coat does the job done for this pretty color! The color does look a lot like candy cane but it wouldn't be one I want to eat! LOL!

NOTD: Lacy Not Racy!

I have been slacking off a lot ever since the new year started. I guess everyone including me is still in that vacation mode and don't ever want to come back. On January 4, I celebrated my 23rd birthday with Mr.L and still I don't feel a year older! It was just a nice simple birthday with nothing fancy at all!

With that being said, this will be my first official post of the year. I will start off the new year with a NOTD.

Can you guess what is the name of this nail polish? Well, by the look of the title, you probably already guessed. It's Essie's Lacy Not Racy! I am totally in love with this wine red color! A perfect color for a winter, right?

I feel like this color make my hand/fingers look much whiter and brighter for some reason! When this polish is indoor, it look Burgundy but when it's outside in the sun, it look much brighter! Under different lighting, the nail polish changed its color for some reason! How amazing!

Anyways, starting from today, I promise I will be posting more!

NOTD: Into the Sunset

Happy early New Year!

I don't know when I will be blogging in the next few days so I guess this will be my last post of the year. Everyone seems to be doing a wrap up post about this year as their last post but I like to be different.

I will end this year with a NOTD!

NOTD isn't something I am good at and I have to say I got the worse nail polish application in the world! LOL! As you can see above, I got another crappy application! I hope to improve this during next year!

Tonight I have on Dr.'s Remedy Essential Emerald and top off with Maybelline Wet Shine Diamond in Into the Sunset.

I hope to do better during 2012!

FOTD: Frosty Pink

So happy that Christmas is finally here （I mean in 2 days)! It's getting colder and colder here in SF! It has been a long time ever since I "wrote" my last post. I have been feeling a bit depress lately, probably because of the weather. Sorry for the lack of post but when I feel better, I will have more review post, FOTD, OOTD, haul and giveaway for you guys! There should be some giveaway coming up! So stay tune!

I won't be posting this weekend due to Christmas weekend. I will be spending my time with Mr. L! It something interesting come up, I will make sure to update all of you!

Today's FOTD is a bit of a holiday look. To me, holiday look doesn't have to be all dazzling with colors but rather give off a bit of sweetness and cold feeling.

It's fairly simple! All you need is whiter shimmer, light pink and magenta eye shadow to complete the eyes! I apply white shimmer eye shadow to the bottom lash line to give this look a clean finish. As for the eyeliner, just draw a thin line close to your lash line and you don't have to wing it out.

Make sure to highlight the bridge of your nose and cheekbone to give your skin a nice glow! Then apply a coral pink blush to the apple of your cheek for that sweet innocence look. Finish off with a nude pink lip color!

Review: DNA EGF Renewal Foaming Cleanser, DNA Intensive Renewal & DNA Defense SPF 30+

Back in October, I attended the DNAEGF Renewal webinar that Dr. Moy hosted. He launched a few new products for winter skin. Usually during the winter, our skin tend to get dry, cracked or even flaked so these products are created to help out that problem.

After the webinar, I got a chance to try out samples from the product line. It includes a foaming cleanser, a moisturizer and a sunscreen.

Let's see if these products work on my skin!

DNAEGF Renewal Foaming Cleanser

After a few uses of this cleanser, I accidentally lost the cap so just a head up that this cleanser does come with a bottle cap!

Anyways, this is a great cleanser that won't stripe away the skin's original moisture. I feel like it took away most of the impurities on my skin and I feel so good afterward! It felt smooth and soft! I especially love that it come in a foaming form so you won't need to add water to lather.

I couldn't really describe the scent of the cleanser but it somehow smell fresh. It's really an indescribable scent. Believe me, I never smell anything like this before:)

So far I haven't had any allergic reaction to this product. Probably because the cleanser is free of artificial fragrances, sulfates and parabens! I guess it's for everyone then, right? Ha-ha!

I would give this a 5/5 and definitely recommend this cleanser for every season, not just winter!

DNA Intensive Renewal

This products claim to restore skin vitality, prevent pigmentation & age spot. So far, I have a bit of pigmentation problem due to my acne scar but after using this moisturizer, the spot has lighten up a bit.

This would be a great day time moisturizer since the product isn't greasy and sticky after applying it to the face! It's a bit different than cream moisturizer because it feels a lot lighter on the face and it did not break me out!

With the dry winter time, we all want a moisturizer that can give the skin some extra hydration. The DNA Intensive Renewal is great for people with every skin type and the product is just so light that you cannot feel like you have anything on! It absorb into my face really quickly and your skin will feel hydrated and smooth afterward!

I definitely recommend this product and would rate this 5/5!

DNA Defense SPF 30+

I have to say that this sunscreen is by far the best I used so far. It doesn't contain high SPF but is just right during winter time where we stay indoor most of the time. When you dispense the product out of the tube, it looks pure white but when you apply it to your face, it looks sheer!

The sunscreen won't leave your skin looking ghostly white! You won't even feel the product on your face because it's a very light.

Most sun protection product would feel greasy and oily but this DNA Defense won't let that happen. So it won't look super oily when applying to oily skin too! The product has Vitamin A & C for antioxidant! How wonderful it is!

Even though it's winter and the sun is not that bright but don't forget to reapply sun protection product every couple of hours. The harmful light that our computer give out can damage your skin too!

I would definitely recommend this product!

You might think that this brown lens cannot give your eye enlargement but you are wrong! Athena Brown blend through with my original eye color and became one! It gives my eyes a huge enlargement even only at 14.5mm in diameter! This look just like real eye color, right?

This is the most natural looking and comfortable lens I wore! Even with 4 hours of wear, I cannot feel the lenses inside my eye! How incredible is that! The life span is pretty short but you can get a good 1 month or a bit more with this pretty lens!

Because the water content is 45%, you will feel no irritation or discomfort due to the lack of oxygen in the lens! Even with this high water content, water drop is still necessary to keep your eye moist during the cold day!

Dare to Try: Frosty Blueish Gray Smokey Eyes

I haven't worn blueish gray eyeshadow in a long time because I am more of a neutral color type of person. This dare to try post give me an opportunity to try out something I don't do regularly. This type of look is great for everyday wear and would look great for the holidays too! You just need to add a bolder eye shadow to make the eyes pop!

1) Apply tinted moisturizer, bb cream or foundation to the area that needed coverage.

2) Apply an eyeshadow base to the eyelid.

3) Put on a blueish gray eyeshadow all over the lid.

4) Next, apply a purple shadow with a grayish undertone on inner corner to the outer V.

5) Put on the same blueish gray eye shadow on your lower lash line.

6) Line your upper lash line & waterline with a brown pencil liner to soften the look. Make sure you wing out the liner to create a larger eye effect.

7) Next, apply the same brown eyeliner to the bottom lash line and smudge it out.

8) Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.

9) Choose a light pink blush and apply to the apple of the cheek to give off a rosy look.

10) Lastly, apply a darker nude lipstick and finish off with a similar color lip gloss!

Did you see how easy it was to achieve this look? Even though it's not really a dramatic smokey eye but it is one that can give off a more feminine side of you. If you want to use this as a night look, try a bold lip color like fuchsia or red!

Review: Dr.'s REMEDY Jolly & Joy Collection 2011

Dr.'s REMEDY has launched a new holiday collection that features five rich, riveting and radiant shades! The collection is called Jolly & Joy. It consist of shades that are great for the holiday season or everyday wear!

I have been lacking of reviews lately and I am truly sorry about that. I guess I took a little break off of all the reviews and giveaways from last month. Anyways, I will be back this month charging with reviews, makeup looks, and random stuff of my life post that it could stuff you up just like how the turkey did for you on Thanksgiving!

It took 3 coats to opaque for me. I am loving this gem-like color and this look similar to the SinfulColors Minted Apple shade. However this nail polish is much easier to apply and doesn't contain too much shimmer!

RESOLUTION Red Glitter

A red-meets-copper spin that sequin-look-alike laden with high-shine and sparkle

To me, it took 3 coats to opaque. It's a nice red glitter shade that sparkles! However, I am not a big glitter fan so if you are one, you will love the shimmer and sparkle of RESOLUTION Red Glitter!

SERENE Silver Glitter

A seasonal sizzler like no other; shine, chic, totally unique in the metallic scene

It took around 3 coats to opaque. A great metallic silver glitter shade for anyone who loves glitter polishes! You will see a hint of blue and red glitter in this shade.

PASSION Purple

A bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout

Around 2-3 coats to opaque. A wonderful plum berry shade that has a bit of silver shimmer! I believe this shade would look great on my toes! Don't you think so?

REVIVE Ruby Red

A shimmer-infused Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson

2-3 coats to opaque. A great crimson red with a hint of shimmer! I love this shade! I don't like true red nail polishes but ruby red is a whole different story! The only downside is the brush of this particular shade. It is too small and not wide enough so it make it even more difficult to apply the color to the nails.

Las Vegas Trip 2011

As you all know, I went on a mini trip to Vegas last week with Mr. L to see Sammi Cheung's concert. The concert was great but because we are quite far from the stage, I didn't take any pictures of her. Also this will be my first time riding a plane in like...um...maybe 15 years??!! It was an okay experience because as you all know, the humid is super dry in the plane! I will remember to bring some extra extra moist lotion next time!

I'm looked a bit tired waking up early on a Saturday morning so don't mind me, please!

Wow, finally we arrived at the bathroom of the hotel! We are staying at Aria, which is a very wonderful hotel! Everything was great except we have to walk like 5 minutes to our room after getting off the elevator! Anyways, it was a nice little exercise.

The bed was a bit too high for Mr. L and I but I totally love the black long cushion! I wish I had one at home:(

This is the view from our room at the 6th floor on Aria. It isn't your best view of the strip but it does look nice at night when all the lights are on.

Cafe Vettro at Aria was quite a nice place to eat. The prices are reasonable and of course the food was delicious, I think...

Don't forget to do some camwhoring, everyone!

If I remember correctly, I think this was my Grill Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was super juicy and delicious! Usually at different restaurant, their chicken are mostly too dry but I am loving this one!

I don't know why but Mr. L ordered Lasagna with some fresh green salad. I think it will be too much for lunch but he manage to finish it! What a big fat tummy he have??!

Always the Asian peace sign! LOL!

We are in the middle of nowhere camwhoring! Haha!

Look! I am a Coco Cola Bear now! LOL!

The weather was okay at LV but super dry! My whole face feels like cracking and skin started to peel off! I think my moisturizer wasn't hydrated enough. Now I know what to bring to this city next time!

I guess I will be ending this trip now. I love taking these mini trips with Mr. L because I feel like our relationship will grow more when we experience new journeys! Don't you think so?

Guest Post: The Makeup Addict`s Christmas WishList

With the holidays just around the corner and next year's make-up trends already gracing the pages of Harper's Bazaar, creating a concise Christmas make-up wish list has been more difficult than usual, but I think I've managed to scale it down to the essentials.

Red is the hot ticket color this season and is expected to continue with its popularity well into the spring. I just love the Art Deco/Pop Art style of which this shade is reminiscent. It reminds me of Mad Men's elegant Betty Draper.

Striking lip color is hitting the shelves from fashion gurus like Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent and with an array of colors from crimson red to plum purple, the hardest part of making out your holiday wish list is deciding on a shade.

My pick this year is Monsieur Saint Laurent's Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in Startling Le Rouge.
But this fall and winter season is all about contradictions too and nude lip color has become trendy again for the first time since . . . well, before I can remember!

Nude-colored make-up and lip shades are all about expressing your natural beauty, something I need to remind myself of more often.

Neutral eye shadows, brown mascaras and rose-tinted blush can glam up the nude look, personifying the rule that the key to wearing make-up is to make it look like you aren't wearing any at all.

Since I like even a hint of color, I'm going with Clinique's Delovely Butter Shine lipstick, a pearlized nude color with soft beige undertones.

Thick eyebrows are also back in style, which suits me just fine. I've grown tired of over-plucking them to achieve the abnormal thinness that looks out of place on my face.

Thick, boyish eyebrows are in, so bring out the eyebrow pencils! For a more natural look, I'm putting the MAC Penultimate Brow Marker on my wish list.

This liquid pen colors and defines brows with precision control and has a quick-drying formula to keep those smudges at bay. I'd also like to get ahold of MAC's Superslick Liquid Eye Liner, which also dries quickly.

Anything to avoid those black smudges!

Orange eye shadow is also making a splash in the fashion world and is projected to be a big trend through the 2012 season. I must say that I'm not completely on board with this one yet. Maybe I'll give it more thought after Christmas.

Of course, like me, you're probably not expecting your entire wish list to be fulfilled come Christmas morning (or one of the many nights of Hanukkah). Also, if you're like me, you'll be rushing out the next day with the gift returning crowds trying to track down these hot make-up items.

One thing I've found that helps with my make-up-obsessed purchases is a rewards card and by that I mean credit cards that give you cash back for everyday things you buy. I try to maintain low balances on my credit cards at all times, so I don't overdo it.

Whether you receive your entire wish list come Christmas Day or end up having to use your own credit cards to make those make-up wishes come true, here's to a bright new year of hot fashion and make-up trends. I, for one, cannot wait!

Review: Dr.'s REMEDY Enriched Instant Cover

Today's Black Friday! Has everyone been out shopping yet? Well, as for me, I stay home all day sleeping! There aren't anything I have to get! I did bought a TV online even though it's not really a doorbuster price. I certainly do not want to crush by people or end up lining up for a couple of hours just to find that the stuff I want is SOLD OUT!

Anyways, since I am at home I guess I will start blogging since I won't be blogging over the weekend. Mr. L and I are going to Las Vegas to see a concert! I will blog about the trip when I am back on Monday!

Today's review will be about Dr.'s REMEDY's new product, Enriched Instant Cover.

Let's get down to it!

Enriched Instant Cover is a concealing cream for the body. It's ideal to apply on the legged, arm, or any part of the body that need a cover up. It claims that it can minimize any skin tone imperfection and instantly reveal a flawless finish.

The concealer has this sponge tube where the product come out and you can rub the sponge onto the area where you need to cover. It gives a smooth finish to the skin.

It blends easily if you hydrate the skin first just like how you moisturize your face first when you put on makeup. I try it without moisturizing it and it comes out super cakey!

The concealer contain ingredients that benefits the skin such as tea tree oil, lavender, vitamin C and E and wheat protein. It even have a great scent that smell like aloe and wheat!

Did you see the before and after picture of my leg above? It instantly brighten up my skin and cover up the purpleness of my knee! It covers up my huge pore very well!

I don't like that this concealer takes some time to dry before you put any clothing on top it. If it didn't dry up and you start dressing up, the product can get into your clothing but you can just rinse it off with soap and warm water. Also, if I am in a hurry and don't want to wait for the concealer to dry, I would put some powder on top to set it!

I saw some photos of others review on this product and it can even cover up your tattoo! How amazing is this! I definitely recommend it for people who want some coverage on their body!

FOTD: Not Your Typical Holiday

Happy Gabble Gabble Day, everyone! Ha-ha! I want to give thanks to everyone of you who supported me and especially to those who supported my blog since the beginning of time! I have lots of people I want to give thanks to but can't write them out all here because that will take forever, right?

Anyways, I did a holiday look for Thanksgiving Day and it's pretty simple too!

I used a brownish orange on the lid and a rusty purple on the crease. Go over the lower lid with brown eye shadow and brown pencil liner to give it a much softer feeling. You can have fun with the eyeliner and can even do a double winged liner too!

To give my face some warmth for the Gabble Day, I used a mix of brown & pink blush from one of the Hard Candy Fox in a Box I bought a while ago.

The lips are bit of a coral pink lip color, topped off with a berry pink lip gloss from No7 & Poppy King, which I will be reviewing very soon! I love the lip combination and this is my new favorite lip color now!

New Earring Stand

Recently I bought a new earring stand to organize my earring. My earrings were all over the place so this earring stand definitely a life saver for me! This is a Anna Sui style earring style and I really love it. Even with that many earrings hanging, it still stood without falling.

I plan to buy a similar one but for my necklaces. My necklaces are even worse than my earring without the stand. They are all tangled up and it took forever to untangle them!

Review: L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara

Mascara is a must in every makeup routine. Not only does it make your eyes pop but it also help define your lashes! I have tried lots of mascara and by far I am loving the Maybelline The Falsies and the Kiss Me Heroine Volume & Curl Mascara.

I was given the opportunity to try out a new mascara from L'Oreal. I have never try L'Oreal mascara before so this will be my first time.

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara

I saw lots of reviews on different blog and this mascara is either a hit or miss for some people. This mascara has a fiber formula that adheres to lashes for a volumized, sculpted effect. It claims that lashes will appear fuller, longer, sculpted and curled at every angle.

To me, this is a bit of a miss product. The formula of this mascara is much drier than most mascara formula I used before. L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara dried pretty quickly after one coat so you have to apply the second coat right after the first one. I still think that after two coats, my lashes start getting clumpy and I am definitely not happy about this.

As for lengthening, it does an okay job but not too much. I love how this mascara make my lashes look fuller and volumized. I think that's the only thing I love about this mascara.

(Sorry for the terrible mascara application)

I experienced flake fall out when you try to touch the lashes after mascara application and I am not happy about that. As you know, I wear contact and once a while I have to reapply eye drop to keep my contact moist especially when the heater is turn on. Since this is not a water-proof formula, it does smudge a little when eye drop touches the lashes.

The packaging is definitely very chic and modern for a drugstore mascara! It has an angular shape tube and the brush is pretty long. If the brush was a bit shorter, it would be much easier for me to apply the mascara.

This fiber mascara is really dry and even though it didn't smudge much during the day I am wearing, which is around 5+ hours.

I don't think I will purchase this and would consider using back my two favorite mascara, which has a better formula.

Review: Heelys Wave Style #7672 Gray/Pink

Heelys...I really want a pair of these shoes when I was little. I always saw people on the street skating their way through and I find that so cool! I wanted to be those cool kids around but I never were. My parent did not buy any for me and neither did I request them to do so. Back then, this shoe was pretty expensive compare to the tennis shoe I wore to school.

It might be a dream then but it's not a dream now. Thanks to Heelys, I get a chance to be old school again!

Let's move on with my review!

Gray/Pink Wave Style #7672

If you don't know who Heelys is, they are a company that makes these skate-like shoes. It comes in a variety of styles so you find one suitable for you to wear. The one I got can be worn as an everyday shoe when you just want to go out and buy something really quick. You don't have to put on the wheels if you don't want to. The pink & gray style is really cute!

The back of the shoe is really fun so walking in them are super comfortable even with the wheels on.

To remove the heel plug, simply use this heel plug remover to get it out so you can insert or remove the wheels.

These are the direction on how to remove or insert the wheels if it's the first time you are using this shoe!

The first time I wore this shoe with the wheels on, it's so hard for me to skate because I still did not find my balance point yet. I was holding on to Mr. L the whole time! Mr. L said he wore these shoe when he was back in middle or high school but I don't think it's a Heelys brand though.

The hardest part was learning how to skate in these Heely shoe. I never skate roller-blade or roller-skate before but I do know a bit of ice-skating. Just a bit not to fall while on the ice rink.

I hate falling but I did fell a lot while trying to master skating or sliding the shoe around. I did watch the video on how to skate these shoes that were on the Heelys website but still I couldn't do it. I finally realize that I am getting old and my learning ability has decrease tremendously!

It took me a while to learn but I somehow learn to find my balance point while trying to skate these shoe. I did success a tiny tiny bit but that was it. It's not like I didn't try at all. I try really hard that I got bruises all around my body and get complains by the apartment right below me.

I think this Heelys shoe look much better without the wheel on. I love wearing it but I don't think I can master the skating part! I had so much fun wearing these Heelys even though I trip a lot! It's like going back to my teenage years!

All you have to do is apply the mask on your face, wait for it to dry and rinse it off! Wah-la!

I really enjoy using this mask! When I first squeeze out the product, it really does look like poop! Not the hard kind but the smooth and soft kind. Ha-ha! I know right, it's so digesting! I started to love it is because of its chocolate scent! It smell like chocolate icing! This is a very moisturizing mask and great for fall/winter season where skin tend to get dry and flaky!

Packaging for this full size chocolate & strawberry mask is quite nice. Product is easily dispensable out of the tube and I don't have any problem with it!

I love to use this mask when I am sitting in a hot bath because then my pores would open up and this mask will do its job of cleansing it! I would give this a Rating 5/5!

Putting this mask on was an easy job. Easy to spread on face and the smell is terrific! I love the avocado scent! This mask reminds me of the Queen Helene Julep Mint Masque. Both their colors are mint green! I can't say much about this mask since I only use it one time but after rinsing mask off, my face feel so refresh and clean! The excess oils are all gone! I hope that if I continue to use this mask in the future, the excess oil on my forehead would be diminish! Rating: 5/5

Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask

Since this mask is clear, you cannot really see it. I haven't use a peel-off mask in a long time. DO you know why? I hate to peel off the mask piece by piece. After that, it would be a big mess in my sink! Well, this mask is no different but I do love the cucumber scent. It is not too strong that it would be overwhelming. After peeling this mask for like 10 minutes after it is dry, I feel that my face is a bit tighten. My face feel so smooth afterward! Even though I hate peel-off mask but I am loving the result of it! FOTD: Sweet Korean Style Makeup Look

Today's look is a sweet and cute Korean style makeup look. I always love Korean makeup because they always look so natural and sweet. They don't use heavy foundation so BB cream is a must to get that flawless skin look.

Eyeshadow is simple. It's just a mix of brown, golden brown, and a bit of champagne brown eyeshadow.

As for the eyeliner, I used a black kohl pencil liner to line the top lash line, upper waterline, and bottom lash line. Then I go over that eyeliner with a liquid liner to make the eyes pop!

Wing the liner out a bit and connect with the bottom lash line too. You can just go about 1/3 into the eye with the liquid liner.

Apply a bit of golden brown eyeshadow on the bottom lash line after you apply eyeliner. Apply mascara on both top and bottom lashes. Remember to comb out your lashes to look clump-free!

Cheek is a light pink blush to look just flushed because you want to go as natural looking as possible.

I used a nude pink lipstick first and apply light peach lip gloss on top to finish off the look!

The foam lathers great and keep me from razor cut when I am using the Schick Quattro Trim Style! These two products go great together and you will surely love the result!

Packaging is great and funky with it's twisted-style cap. I love how easy it is for the product to come out of the pump! I would definitely try their other scent too! Mr. L would definitely be surprise by its fresh mango scent all over his body! He-he!

It's getting cold here in San Fran. I am pulling out all my sweaters and coats out to get ready to fight this cold weather!

Anyways, I have been loving the color purple lately. My nails and eye shadows are both purple! I might consider getting purple highlight too! Haha!

I have this product for quite a while and realize I didn't have a chance to swatch this or review this. I got this Hard Candy Duo Cheek Tint in "In Love 315" when I was shopping at Walmart a couple of months ago or was it longer?

I got this because I thought it would be convenient to have 2 different cheek colors on the go. When I go retouch my makeup, I can choose a different cheek color without having to bring 2 separate products.

Hard Candy Cheek Duo Cheek Tint in "In Love 315"

Cream cheek color duo delivers a just blushed look. Wear together or alone.

My Thoughts

I absolutely love the colors of these two cheek tint. It really gives my cheek a just blushed look. Usually I would just wear either 1 color because it look more natural that way. Since this is a cream cheek color, it doesn't last long on my cheek without powder on top. I don't really like using powder blush on top of cream blush because it would make my face look more heavy.

The top part of "In Love 315" is like a coral pink color, which I really adores! The bottom part is a bit like deeper coral with a hint of brown undertone. It would be a great fall blush color!

I don't know how this work on other skin tone but I think this would look great for people with light-medium skin tone! Hard Candy also have other color of this cheek tint so if this color don't work well with you then try their other one!

This duo cheek tint does have a funky scent when you put your nose too close to it but beside that, this is a great blush that is pigmented!

For $6, I really think it's worth it!

Julep Nail Vernis "Alfre"

Since most of you want me to swatch the items I got from Julep Maven, I decided to swatch the nail polish first.

Alfre is a dark purple color with a grayish undertone, which I really adore. The formula of this nail polish is great and I only needed 2 coat to see great color! The packaging is of course very cute! It's so chic and sleek in my opinion because it is the first time I have seen nail polish in this form. I feel so outdated! Haha!

I just tried the pink polish, Reese from Julep Maven but isn't loving it. The formula suck! I don't know why but the brush feels different that the Alfre one. I hate it so I don't even bother to swatch it!

Halloween is near so this time I did a look from Nightmare Before Christmas. Can you guess who it is? It is Sally! I tried my best doing the blue/white base of her face. I found out that I didn't have any white or blue makeup base so I used eye shadow as a replacement.

Such a lovely bead bracelet! The aqua color bead is just so pretty! This goes well with any outfit and can brighten up your outfit! Unfortunately, this bead bracelet is still a little loose on my wrist. Sometimes I just wish my wrist is a bit bigger.

The total came to around $45 so I have to pay $5 out of my packet since the gift card deducted $40 off my purchases! The quality is definitely great for its reasonable price!

Making this place homey has been far more work than I thought it was going to be but I’m getting there, one pillow and piece of furniture at a time. I love that it’s all mine to do whatever I want with but boy is there something to be said for hiring a competent decorator! I think I should have spent less money on the house and saved more for renovations and décor, but that’s a lesson I’ll have to save for next time. Halloween Look: Fairy

A reader requested that I do a fairy Halloween look so I attempt to do it. It didn't turn out as I expect it to. I am not really an artistic person so drawing on my face would be a hard job for me. I saw lots of great fairy makeup look when I Google it online. Mine, of course cannot be compare to those with great artistic skill, but still, I hope you like it!

I will try something different next time. Since it's less than a week before Halloween, I will try to do as much look as I can. If want a more dramatic fairy look, do a winged eyeliner or add some falsies to glam it up!

Review: ShaToBu Calorie Burning High Waist Shaping Tight

We all want to lose weight without putting much effort in it right? I think everyone is just as lazy as me. Everyday, I told myself to starting moving my butt and exercise but I lack that effort. Recently, I discovered this brand that make shaping tight that help woman like me burn more calories just by walking. Isn't that incredible?

I don't wear jeans that often so leggings and tights has been my favorite since I gained some extra weight during summer. With the high waist shaping tight from ShaToBu, I was able to burn a few calories whenever I wear it!

This shaping tight contain resistance bands which can tone the muscle and increase calorie burn. The first time I wore this, it took me some time to get it on because when I'm at the thigh part, the resistance band is so tight that it's so hard to pull the tight upward.

After I finish pulling the tight on, I was sweating a lot! I guess I lost some calories just by putting this on!

In the panty part, it has cotton gussets so we would have a cool dry feel in that part. It's good that the panty part has some room to breathe!

I love that it tuck the extra tummy fat in and smooth out my muffin top! After wearing this shaping tight, I look like I lost a few centimeters in my waist and tummy. Even though ShaToBu said that the waistband won't roll down like regular shaper tight but I still experience that problem. After a while of sitting, the waistband start to roll down and I have to pull it back up. I guess we all have difference experience with shaper tight.

When you wear this tight, you have to wear a long dress to cover up the leg band on the thigh area. I wish that ShaToBu made one for people who like to wear shorter dress but still want to shape their figure like me.

You can see from the pictures below that this shaping tight smooth out my tummy fat even if I wore a tight shirt. It help with my hourglass body a lot!

I am very happy with the result that this shaping tight shows. Now even when I walk, I could burn more calories than before. For a person who lack in exercise. this is a good option beside going to the gym!

I was inspired to do this look after watching one of Michelle Phan's old Halloween video. It doesn't look much like a vampire but this is how ti turns out with the makeup I got at home.

This is the first Halloween look of the year. I don't have the costume for most of them so I'll try my best to recreate the look. I don't know if you can tell by the picture but this is me being Snow White!

I am not good at doing hairstyle so it took me a while to do this messy bob hairstyle. I am trying to a more softer Snow White so I didn't add in the falsies. If you would like to glam up the look a bit, then try on some falsies!

This look more like a rocker style Snow White, don't you think so?

Guest Post: How to Achieve the Perfect Pout

Every woman longs for a sexy, plump, perfect pout. And with a variety of lip products on the market and some skilful makeup artistry, your lips can achieve the bee-stung, just-kissed appearance without having to go the cosmetic surgery route or endure painful lip injections.

For a puckered up look, these makeup tricks can enhance your pout and make it appear more pillowy:

1) Use a lip liner to draw a "cupid's bow" at the centre of your top lip. You can draw above your natural lip shape and no one but you will know the difference.

2) Use a thin concealer stick or pencil to make a light line over your top lip, concentrating especially on the cupid bow you've drawn. Smudge the concealer in to blend, either with your finger or a cotton swab so that it's just barely noticeable.

3) Using a small makeup brush, apply a nude-coloured eye shade to the outer lines of both the bottom and top lips. This highlights the outlines of the lips, making them appear larger.

4) When choosing a lipstick shade for your plump pout, keep in mind that lighter colours will make the lips appear fuller, while dark shades have the opposite effect of making your lips appear thinner. But if your heart is set on a darker colour, a trick is to apply a bit of shimmery lipstick or gloss smack dab in the middle of your bottom lip, which offsets the dark shade and will make lips appear fuller.

5) Another trick that uses light is highlighter. Add a shimmery gold or silver eye shadow or highlighting powder directly above the Cupid’s bow you've drawn for a plumper pout.

6) And last, but not least, and this may sound silly - exercise your lips. You've noticed after a heavy kissing session that your lips appear much more puffy and full, and this is not a fluke. So whistle while you work or try one of these exercises:

The Lip Puff - Wad up a small amount of tissue or toilet paper and insert it into a drinking straw. Attempt to blow the tissue out of the straw, dramatically puffing out your cheeks with each try, and then exhale with a noisy rush. Do this 25 times in a row.

The Lip Pop: Try to achieve the loudest "pop" sound you can by pressing your lips together (you know when you mash you lips together to blend your lipstick? Do that) and then separating them with the "pop" noise. Do this 25 times in a row.

The color of the lens is like a forest green color, which is really pretty. At 16.0mm in diameter, this give my small pupil a huge enlargement! Of course, this is not your typical everyday lens but also not too dramatic that people would think it's weird. This is my first green circle lens and I like it a lot.

It would be weird to wear this lens out without makeup because you would somehow creep people out. I think with some falsies on, the lens will sure make your eyes pop!

As for comfort, I think this is pretty comfortable for a 38% water content circle lens. You can go without eye drop for around 3-4 hours and still your eye won't be tired. That is my experience with this circle lens.

Sometimes with large diameter lens, your eye can be pretty tiring trying to stay hold of that enlargement. My eyes get pretty tired when I wear my regular contact lens with a 15.0mm in diameter but this 16.0mm one isn't that tiring at all.

Originally it's $19.50 but now it's $10.00 after discount, that would make this lens really affordable! I think this would make a great part of some Halloween makeup look. I will try to come up with makeup look with this circle lens because I really think it's a pretty color!

The lens looks like a doll-like eye to me so I try to create a makeup look that tries to resemble a doll. I know it doesn't look much like it but it's the closest I can do without falsies on.

Review: Gatsby Bubble Type Bleach & Color-Royal Latte

This time I will be reviewing a foaming hair dye from Gatsby. Packaging wise is very nice. I think it's way better than most American brand in terms of packaging. American brand really need to find a new marketing to design their package. Packaging is a very important step in making a brand popular!

Okay, back to my review.

When I open the box, I was a bit disappointed. I expect the product to be a bit different. The product is exactly like any other hair dye product in the market. It's the same 1 + 2 design plus a big instruction sheet. I find that nowadays, they don't even bother to include a comb but the good thing is the gloves. The gloves that came with the hair dye isn't thin gloves but rather like a real plastic glove. I'm so disappointed.

Beside the comb, Gatsby's hair coloring dye don't even come with a conditioner! The interesting thing I find about this hair dye is that they use 3 hole instead of the regular 1 to dispense the hair product. I think this will help the product come out a bit faster than usual.

There is something different about the foaming concept of American and Japanese product. The American version is like using the pump to dispense out foam but the Gatsby one is so different. When I first squeeze the product into my hair, it feel just like the regular hair dye (the one that look like toothpaste). I thought I did something wrong in the process because the product didn't foam at all. Finally, I realized that you need to massage like you were washing your hair, then foam will then start come out!

OMG! It's such a boring design but I felt that I can see if I massage the product equally into my hair, which is okay.

I bought the color Royal Latte, which is somewhat like mocha. When I squeeze it out, it look more like green tea. Is this some kind of joke?

When the product started to foam, it felt fresh and cool, which is much better than the traditional hair dye. You will always think that the product is dripping when using the traditional one, right?

Now, all I have to do is wait for 30 minutes for the product to absorb. The scent is still very awful like any hair dye I used but it does smell better than most of the hair dye in America.

After 30 minutes, I just used warm water to rinse it. The color that I rinse out is much less than the one I used before. Is it the formula or the colorability of the product?

Since it didn't came with a conditioner, I used my own to help condition my hair. It's the same as tonic the body after labor. Haha!

When blow drying is complete, you can really see the color. The colorability is really great as you can see in the picture below.

The fascinating thing I experience is that when I wash, condition & blow dry my hair again, the color is much brighter and vibrant!

P.S: After I woke up in the morning, the color is even better than before! Amazing!

Overall for around $7.99 for this foam hair dye, the effect is quite good! The color came out nice even though it's not the same as the box but it's close up since I have dark hair color to start with. If your men want to dye their hair, then be sure to check out this Gatsby hair dye!

Day 11 — Nicknames you have and why

"Mi" and "Murmur" are the two common nicknames I have.

Obviously, "Mi" is short for Mimi. I think it is just easier to call a name with one syllable rather than two, right?

Murmur is what my sisters usually call me. It was back when I was doing summer volunteering at a tutor place and the kids have to call me "Teacher Mimi" then my sister just made up that nickname, Teacher Mur. I think that's the origin of that nickname!

This is how the whitestrip look like on my teeth. The bubble looking things are saliva so don't be disgusted by it.

My result with the Crest Whitestrips

As you can see above, my teeth have whitened so much after two hour! I am amazed by this product! Most of the yellow stain on my teeth are gone and now I have a whiter smile thanks to Crest!

Wearing the whitestrips reminds me of wearing braces when I was in high school. I can still talk but it always sound like I have stuff stuck on my teeth or something. Overall, it is comfortable to wear and taking it off is really a no mess job besides having to touch my own saliva! There are a bit of gel left behind after removing the gel strip but you just need to wipe them off.

People all have their own results. It might work for me but it might not work for you.

I love the light creamy texture of this cleanser. At first when I use this, the scent was a bit unpleasant but now I got used to that tree scent so it's not a problem anymore. This cleanser doesn't dry out the skin after cleansing. It does a good job in removing the oils and debris on the surface of my skin. I am still using this to see if it helps with my forehead blemishes. So far, the blemishes are still there but new ones aren't coming out anymore. I hope to get rid of it soon! I would give this a 4/5 rating!

I have tried their pomegranate version of this cleansing conditioner and I love it. I have to admit that I like the smell of this one more because I am always a sucker for anything that has a minty scent. It does the same great job as the pomegranate one of cleansing my hair. Now I can't live without it (jk!) I would give this a 5/5 rating!

Juice Beauty Conditioning Lip Color: Organic Fig

This product is a kiss of nature for your lips. The combination of antioxidant-rich berries & minerals ia packed with the perfect amount of pucker-up color.

As you can see in the swatches above, this is a dark berry red kind of color. For color wise, I am not fond of it because I don't like to wear this kind of dark color. I do love that this lip color is moisturizing and goes on lip smoothly. The texture isn't too soft or firm so when you apply, you will get an even color. I think this lasted for about 2 hours for me if I am not eating or drinking before reapplying it. The packaging is very chic and I really adore this simple tube! I would give this a 3/5 rating.

This organic nourishing lip balm glides on without waxiness, providing a barrier against harsh environmental conditions.

I am total lip balm junkie at some point but am now controlling myself from buying too much lip balm. The scent of this lip balm reminds me of cherry cough medicine. This glide on smoothly on my lip and leave not waxiness or stickiness behind. I love that this is organic and natural so I can be at ease when I use it! If you are a lip balm junkie like me, you will love this too! I would give this a 5/5 rating!

I feel like it's so hard to come up with names for my FOTD so I just call this one Nameless. If you can think of a better name for it, please let me know. I will be more than happy to change my title just for you!

I used a shimmer base and add a bit of the purple-ish brown on my eyelid. I didn't do much on the crease area. This is definitely a look you can do everyday for any occasion!

You don't need a brighter color blush for this FOTD. I chose a neutral pink to give it a just blushed look. Do you like it?

I have not been keeping my teeth healthy and white even since I got off braces, which is like 3-4 years ago. When I got this chance to try out this whitestrips, I am more than excited and thrill!

I was ask this question: What life events would you whiten for in just 2 hours with the Crest 3D White 2 Hour Express?

I would have to say my date with Mr. L. Even though we have been together for so long but I always want to look my best to avoid him from dumping me because of my appearance (LOL). In a date, the first thing one will notice is your smile. If you have yellow teeth like mine, I don't think you will leave a good impression for them, right? They would think that you might be a sloppy person who neglect in keeping every body part clean! People should treat every body part equally! They are part of you and it's your job to make them look their best!

I am going to try out the whitestrips now and will report back with my after photo about my experience! Before that, you must see this horrific before picture of my teeth!

FOTD: Little Miss Devil

Today's FOTD is a little different from my usual one because I used a red eyeshadow! Red eye shadow aren't your typical everyday shadow but I want to give it a try! It is not a dramatic look so if you want to spice up your everyday look a bit then red eye shadow is an option!

Currently I am in love with this classy nude lipstick from Milani! I will do a review on it soon but you can see the color on the photos here. I think I finally found a nice nude lip color that suits me!

I totally forgot what I used but the red eyeshadow was from the ELF 100 Eyeshadow Palette! It is not a true red but rather a berry red, which is not overly dramatic!

My Thoughts

I really like these lashes! They are so comfortable to wear and natural-looking! Even though it's pricey for a pair of lashes but they can be worn for 25 times and they look much more natural than synthetic lashes. I don't always wear these semi-dramatic lashes out unless if it's for a party or an event because I prefer natural falsies. T Dot Ohhh! is my first mink lashes and I think I am in love with them.

Don't worry, Velour Lashes doesn't harm these mink. The hairs were brush off them and are sterilized!

The lashes are so light that I can barely feel them on my lid! The band is really soft and easy to apply with, unlike the stiff band from some synthetic lashes.

I definitely recommend Velour Lashes because they offer very affordable mink lashes for an affordable price so we can all look beautiful!

I think I got this nail polish during some sign up promotion of something. I don't know the brand of this nail polish but the name is "Wild Things". It is suppose to be a hot pink color but the camera always capture it to be somewhat of a coral pink color. Just try to imagine this as a bright hot pink color, please!

I top this off with Love & Beauty's Black Night so it wouldn't be that plain-looking! I usually do not wear much bright pink color because it does not look good on my skin tone! I think it would be great to use as a pedicure color, right?
